The Village of Corpach

So much to see and do right on our door step in the village of Corpach in Fort William

Ravenswood House is situated in the village of Corpach, just 4 miles from Fort William town centre.  Corpach lies on the north shore of Loch Linnhe just at the point where it sharply curves to the west and then becomes Loch Eil.

  • You just need to look out our window to see the amazing views of Loch Linnhe and Ben Nevis.
  • The Jacobite Steam Train passes right passed our window 4 times a day in the summer months and you can also take a 2 minute walk to Corpach Station to catch the train as it briefly stops.
  • Corpach is where the famous Caledonian Canal reached Loch Linnhe and the sea, also known as Corpach Basin.  Take a walk from Corpach basin along the Caledonian Canal to Neptunes Staircase.
  • There is also a new marina currently underway at Corpach basin.  Thomas Telford Corpach Marina is due to open in 2021 with 40 berths and a coffee shop.
  •  Another short walk from the property is the oak woodland nature trail is a 1.1km path from the main road just east of the BSW sawmill up through the community woodland with amazing views out onto Fort William from the top point.
  • Just down the road is the Snowgoose Activity Centre who offer a vast amount of water activities as well as summer and winter mountain activities for the adventurous at heart.
  • The world famous Treasures of the Earth exhibition is right across the road from us, housing Europe’s largest collection of Crystals, Gemstones & Fossils.
  • Rockhopper Sea Kayaking offering half, full or multi-day sea kayak trips right outside on Loch Linnhe.
