The Jacobite Steam Train

Take one of the most scenic train journeys in the world on board the Jacobite Steam train.  The train takes the famously scenic West Highland Line from Fort William to Mallaig (from May to October).  The train is also famous for featuring as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films and also travels over the magnificent Glenfinnan Viaduct as it does in the movies.

The 84 mile round trip takes you through the most photographed of Scotland’s Highlands.  The train travels from Fort William to Mallaig, stopping at Glenfinnan en route and also passing through Lochailort, Arisaig and Morar.  You’ll have an hour and a half in Mallaig to explore this fishing village before heading back to Fort William.

You can choose seats in either their standard carriage, First Class Compartment Carriage or First Class Open Carriage – all are furnished in an original vintage style.  You can also add a delicious cream tea to your journey if you are travelling in first class.

The Jacobite Steam Train is extremely popular and books up fast every season, we recommend you book well in advanced via their website to not be disappointed.
